The underground automated waste collection system was invented by Envac in 1961. Today the systems are found all over the world, in residential areas, business premises, town centres, industrial kitchens, hospitals and airports.
The solution:
Based on vacuum technology, household and commercial waste is transported in pipes underground with high velocity to a collection station. In the collection station the waste is compacted into waste containers. When full, the containers are transported on truck to final treatment. The installation is fully automatic and works 365/7/24. The system is a part of the city infrastructure, just like electricity, sewage, water supply, district hearting and cooling etc.
